The meats are excellent, especially the Lokum Burger, and the Special Sushi was also very good. On the other hand, big disappointment for the Havuç Dilimi, overrated and much better elsewhere.

On the service side, the wait is too long even with a reservation, and they sometimes put other customers before you even if you are equivalent in terms of number. The dishes are worth a visit, but beware of the wait. That’s why I put 3/5.

For those who follow the gourmet world, Istanbul also means Nusr-Et Steakhouse Sandal Bedesteni, elegant restaurant of the well-known Turkish patron of cascading salt.
His chain of restaurants is successful at home and in many other countries, with Turkish dishes based on charcoal-cooked meat with a visible grill.
The place is very large and beautiful, the furnishings recall a contemporary Turkish-Ottoman style with large crystal chandeliers whose brilliance leaves something to be desired; the service is offered by male waiters in grand epoque uniforms and women in modest black dresses.
The very extensive menu offers expertly cooked dishes and various types of quality meats.
However, given the final price of the bill, resin plates, paper napkins, stained tablecloths that have not been replaced, nor salads that arrive at the table with protective film are not acceptable.

We went back there three years in a row and over time it has decayed a lot. Assuming that there are much better places in Istanbul, we liked the location and the meat cooked in butter … over the years the service is increasingly hasty and the food less cared for. Expensive for Istanbul. The baklava remains delicious

We visited the restaurant to celebrate my sisters birthday. Unfortunately our experience was not the best. The food was very average and most of it was cold. But especially the service was terrible. Our waiter tend to ignore us most of the time. As they bring out the food they let us wait 5 more minutes for someone to cut the meat with the excuse that a colleague will come. This did not happen — so the original waiter came and cut it. The waiter later came and ask us about dessert- as the menu is online we needed to check it. Instead of waiting for a few minutes he told us to take a calm look and he will come back to take the order. Long story short — he never came back. After almost 40 minutes of trying to track him down we decided to pay and leave. I really understand that in busy times it tends to take longer, but all the tables around us where empty and there where only 3 tables (incl. ours) left in the section of our waiter…
We are in fact very disappointed of our experience and would‘nt recommend the restaurant to anyone. Especially for the price.

After a fantastic day of Istanbul marathon with a big group of friends we decided to reward ourselves with great food. Our experience of this place totally ruined our day.
We were offered to order a few kind of meets and sides to the table to share. It was supposed to be 2000 liras per person tops. Food and atmosphere was good but after the main course they started adding desserts and Raki that nobody had ordered. We were confused if it was supposed to be a part of the 2000 lira plan og not. Everyone had ordered their own drinks. When leaving we wanted to pay seperately. After i had paid I realised I had paid way to much. When looking into it the waiter had splitted the whole bill (all food, all wine and drinks, deserts, Raki, service) between us and then started to add everyone´s drinks on top of it again (so we were paying all the drinks twice, and they were very expensive) When confronted with this he acted like we were stupid and didn´t understand anything. This was a long fight over the bill. Things were not settled untill the manager came and told him we were right. I am sure this is not the first time that they try to pull this on a group of tourists that may not have a sense of the currency.

The restaurant is really beautiful, inside the Grand Bazaar and on two levels. To those who think that Salt Bae made money just by inventing a character I can say that yes, obviously the character helps, but the food here is good.
The meat is spectacular, the portions are super generous and the bill is right for how much you eat. We wanted to try the gold burger, which they served very spectacularly with liquid nitrogen. We laughed, we had fun and I must say that we were very satisfied!!

Much worse than when it opened. Very beautiful and evocative place, located in the ancient part of the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, perfectly restored, unfortunately the food is not excellent but the worst thing is the service… Waiters not up to the standard of a restaurant with certain prices, when they serve the dishes that require the famous setting of Nusret they execute it in a very listless and approximate manner, the cocktails are not good at all, in short the impression is that of dining in a beautiful location but with cuisine and service that are absolutely not up to the bill, practically a tourist restaurant that limits itself to attracting customers for the location and without paying any attention to cuisine and service «what do we care anyway?» they are tourists and we are not interested in building their loyalty»

We enjoyed the dining experience so much the first night, we came back 2 more times, once for dinner again and once for lunch. The location is very, inside the Grand Bazaar. Onur was our server who attended our every need each visit and he was wonderful! Our dietary restrictions limit what we can eat, and Onur ensured everything we ordered was exactly what we required. We tried the tomahawk, asado, sliced filet, mashed potato side and burger patties with the melted cheese sauce. All were outstanding! A glass of the red Turkish wine was also a perfect accompaniment, and also finishing up with a cup of Turkish coffee.

We arrived at the restaurant late in the evening and were pleasantly surprised that no prior booking was necessary. The service was outstanding, with polite and attentive waiters who ensured everything was served promptly. We enjoyed the Salt Bae Burger and the New York Steak, both of which were delicious. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food and service we received. Highly recommend this place for a delightful dining experience!

The restaurant is in a very beautiful location, and is worth it for its decor. We had reserved a table for dinner. When we arrived, although the reservation was well made, we had to wait before being seated until the table was ready. Once seated upstairs, we had to wait quite a while before someone came to take our order (the menus are available with a QR code). We had a burger, which wasn’t great. On the other hand, the steaks were good. The service was not very pleasant and quite expeditious. While serving one of the steaks, they splattered some grease on our clothes.

DO NOT BOTHER COMING !! When you get there, they try to sell you some gold covered steak, if you don’t buy it, the waiters ignore for the rest of your meal. Everything was overpriced. The smoked beef starter is just store bought ham with cheese. They sell a small coke for $3USD, regular beer for $6USD. The owner couldn’t be bothered to clean the street right in front of the restaurant. Everything is way over priced, a wait staff who could care less, and it’s just all marketing

The place was superbly decorated with Salt Bae’s wax figures well over the place.

Service was a little mean to us but it is fair to say we asked about two allergies and we wanted to make sure everything was going to be sound.

We both ordered the Nusr Et burger and it was delightful. The meat was juicy and tender, correctly done. The ingredients were top quality and for the price it was not that bad. In my case gluten free meant no bread so there was no contamination.

Be aware of where you are going in terms of prices and you will be good to go. It was one of the best meals of our trip.

It is located in a building at Grand Bazaar. 2 levels to the restaurant. They asked if we would be taking alcohol, we replied yes and were directed to level 2 which was pretty much empty while level 1 was rather packed. Only 2-3 tables were taken on level 2 but a big tour group came when we were about to be done. We ordered the 300 gm New York steak which was was good but nothing spectacular. Not sure what the hype was. The waiter tried the saltbae style of sprinkling the salt but he seemed a little awkward at it ha. The beef was sliced in front of us but the pieces were unevenly sliced… House pour red was no good. 2 steaks, 2 sides, a glass of red and a coke costs about SGD200 in total. About the price for steak but I have been to better ones. Service was ok but doesn’t measure up to the price tag.

Our guide pointed out this restaurant which I recall some time back about reviews done on the special salt seasoning. Decided to do an impromptu walk in and managed to get a table. Sommelier was friendly and recommended a bottle of Turkish cab sav blend, not too expensive, and did the usage aeration into decanter even though it was a 2016 vintage. Waiter service was at best, touristy, and he walked away after I didn’t accept his most expensive recommendation of lamp ribs with gold leaves. Eventual settled for double portion of beef tenderloin, sautéed spinach and a lamb chop. All were good and the beef was so nicely done where the center of the loin was cut and the beef fat was used to sizzle the beef in-between, thus imparting a nice wok-flavour onto the meat. The finale was the dessert with ice cream. Except for the waiter service which perhaps the owner needs to organise retraining, this will be a nice ambience to dine in and food taste is rewarded.

Delicious! We ordered the Tomahawk steak and it was great. I shared the steak with my husband. The waiter indicated that the Tomahawk portion is only for 1 person so we should order 2 Tomahawk, but I told him no, 1 will be enough for us. true enough , we were very full by the end including the sides we ordered! Baked potato was great too .
